Glad to hear the op went well, apart from the complications. That is some neat stitching, nurse must be a crafter :)

Just throwing it out there but the swelling looks eerily similar to what happens to me when something (infection, allergy, physical scraping) affects the glands around my throat which are damaged due to earlier illness. Might be way off but it looks really similar and it covers the same type of area.
