RBPV - Amadeus' Journal Entry 1

Servo Unit Murphy-2, designation "Amadeus"
Autumn 2, Day 1
Time: 18:21:43
STATUS UPDATE
Attention:
Mr. Braden Murphy, Creator
#3 Founder Lane, Pleasantview
Sir:
I write this from what I can only describe as an amalgamation of an abandoned lot and a junk yard across a street from a collection of small, seemingly mobile, dwellings which are in a state of extreme disrepair. It would seem the anomaly which is blocking the solar receptors of Servo Unit Murphy-1, designation "Harley" is also interfering with my built in wireless communication. I have been unable to establish a connection with which to update my status with your systems since setting out on this journey. Having obtained a method for creating a hard-copy of my logs, it is my intention to record all future status updates in this log and deliver them to you via the postal system until a better solution is found. I trust this is acceptable to you, Sir.

I have traveled north from your location following the road. I have encountered few vehicles and no life forms thus far. I find myself on the outskirts of what appears to be a larger settlement which I plan to investigate in the morning. I am working under the hypothesis that the source is not mechanical in nature, thus, I believe it most likely I will locate the source in a developed area. If you disagree with this course of action please advise.

My earlier theory regarding the anomaly being localized in nature would appear to be correct. I was able to fully recharge my power supply as the sun rose this morning. Further I am unable to detect any trace of the anomaly from my present location. I advise against any attempt to bring Servo Unit Murphy-1 to my present location, nor do I believe it is advisable to attempt to transport her outside the anomaly at all. Once I became aware of the lessened effects of the anomaly I made an attempt to return and report my findings. This attempt failed.

Having crossed the bridge, heading south, I met with what I am only able to describe as an extreme malfunction which I believe was a result of passing back into the anomaly.

The precussive force which accompanied this malfunction was powerful enough to relocate my person several metres back the way I had come.

All systems appear to be operational, however, there is a slight irregularity in my central processor which appeared at the moment of malfunction. It is for this reason I advise against transporting Servo Unit Murphy-1. I do not believe it would be safe for Servo Unit Murphy-1 to attempt to traverse the outer edges of the anomaly.

It is my further duty to report a recurring "feeling" I have experienced since the malfunction. There would appear to be a vacancy located within my torso cavity though such a vacancy does not register with my internal sensors. In addition I am increasingly overcome by the impulse to "take a nap".
I am attaching a copy of my system diagnostics for your examination. I will keep you advised of my status.
