I have probably spelled those wrong and I am okay with that.
Right, so, updating on stuff I said I would keep updated. I do have lung cancer. It is stage 3, this is not good news. I am okay and plan to stay that way. I refuse to be defeated by a group of cells that decided they could deactivate their mitochondria and essentially become immortal. No, absolutely not. Fuck that.
Treatment will be radiation, chemo and a lot of fruits an veggies. FYI, I hate bananas. I am eating them anyway, but I really, REALLY hate bananas.

Hope this isn't too forward coming from a virtual lurker but...
Date: 2012-11-09 12:52 am (UTC)That... that stinks. Seriously.Normally saying "if there's anything I can do..." is kinda stupid. I mean, I'm not some hotshot pathologist or oncologist. But I do have a lot of vegetarian recipes in my repertoire, and if you are looking for ways to enjoy stuff you normally don't like but are forcing yourself to eat anyway, I may actually be able to help.
(One thing I do know: thick viscous liquids like strained prunes, applesauce or... say... mashed bananas are often used in low-fat baking as a way of cutting back on oil. If the fruits can be cooked without killing the stuff you need from them, that may be a way to enjoy those bananas.)
