I've got the default face replacements from
remisims which are pretty and eyes from
jesstheex that are all shiny. I have been tweaking other things here and there, cleaning up funky shadows and bad blends on skins, fixing weird seams on clothing, that sort of thing. My game is looking all pretty and shiny!
Except Tel's eyes. :(

Three years ago when I made them? They weren't that bad. Okay, maybe it was my graphics card that WAS bad, not the point. Can you say Pixelated? Sure they work fine at a distance, up close though? I cringe.

That highlight alone is terrible and that is not even getting into the blurry edges and the yellow/grey sclera. It tends to give him unicoloured eyes in screenshots really with no visible sclera at all which has been driving me bonkers for ages now.
I have thought about remaking them many, many times and even started to a few times. but you know that tiny little image you get to work with? Me and it don't get along so well. I don't have a tablet and all those little details (the ones I can't seem to convince myself I can live without) are a P.I.T.A. with a mouse! They hurt too. So, I never finished remaking them.
Then, in a startling moment of clarity it suddenly occurred to me:
Make them on a BIG scale and work in all the details, then shrink it later!
Yes, I am far more braindead than I like to let on. I am sure this is a basic concept for everyone else. I only just caught up, okay? :oP

Better yes?
They are only contacts for now. I still have a few more details to work in and the highlight to tweak. I am much happier with these. One more thing that is (well, will be really, once it is all finished) pretty and shiny. *nod*
Next up after the eyes are done? Fix Tel's hairline. The "I stuck black semi-transparent tape on my forehead" look has to go.
