Me, I stick to word perfect. Except now I have gotten my son's handmedown laptop with icky Vista on it and I don't want to even find out if it will take my word perfect from seven years ago, so I have to use OpenOffice on it.

I am happy with xp and word perfect on my desktop. They work.

I had office 2003. It was good, I liked it. the so called UI didn't take up half the screen ... I do not know what this new thing is. I do know it does not customize worth a damn though. Stick with Word Perfect and XP! Yes, XP is a resource hog but at least it is less of Microsoft telling you what you can and can not do with your own computer.

(now that I have reinstalled photoshop ... cause apparently I uninstalled it instead of the something else I meant to uninstall a few days ago) Messed up .. no.

This (http://pics.livejournal.com/genlisae/pic/000ws5c6) is what 2007 defaults to on the laptop (while completely removing 2003 from the machine), Okay that is not exactly what it looks like, it defaults to a hideous Windows blue colour scene and you have a choice of a whole 3 (Count em! once you find the damn things because they are hidden way at the bottom of a menu you get to by clicking the office logo) colour schemes, this was the least offensive. Also, the little bar there (you will see it better in the next one) only had save and undo, the rest of the stuff I had to put there myself.

and having realized I just inadvertently posted spoilers (LOOK at what is open when you screenshot kate!) ... The screen hijacking "Ribbon" (as they call it) and the lack of having non-screen hijacking menus.

The colour is a minor annoyance really and I would probably adjust to it if it was the only one. But it so isn't.

Brunette is the feminine form and thus correct (keeping in mind this is working on a Canadian English dictionary as well) I have no explanation for the green lines ... it probably wants me to pluralize them or something equally stupid. I mostly ignore them.

Brunet is the masculine form and thus WOULD be correct if the character in question wasn't female. She is a she, so yeah, it's wrong, but the word is right.

I do all of my text in notepad. Everything. I only ever open up Open Office to print things now (and fix my horrific fail!spelling). I gave up on Microsoft Office as soon as 07 came out. Bah, had to study it at TAFE. Had a big textbook and everything. Fun fun fun. :P
