Date: 2011-09-12 04:36 am (UTC)This (http://pics.livejournal.com/genlisae/pic/000wrfws) is what Word 2003 looks like on my desktop and what it used to look like on the laptop.
This (http://pics.livejournal.com/genlisae/pic/000ws5c6) is what 2007 defaults to on the laptop (while completely removing 2003 from the machine), Okay that is not exactly what it looks like, it defaults to a hideous Windows blue colour scene and you have a choice of a whole 3 (Count em! once you find the damn things because they are hidden way at the bottom of a menu you get to by clicking the office logo) colour schemes, this was the least offensive. Also, the little bar there (you will see it better in the next one) only had save and undo, the rest of the stuff I had to put there myself.
And this (http://pics.livejournal.com/genlisae/pic/000wtaz7) is as fixed as I managed to make it. :/
It is very annoying when microsoft tells me what I can and can not do

Date: 2011-09-12 04:42 am (UTC)*sneaks peeks* You mean...the color or the formatting or both dear? :(
and I'm surprised it didn't correct you on "brunette" XD *snckr*
*looks at the green lines* What the hell is it doing that for? 0.o Those are logical statements

Date: 2011-09-12 04:51 am (UTC)The colour is a minor annoyance really and I would probably adjust to it if it was the only one. But it so isn't.
Brunette is the feminine form and thus correct (keeping in mind this is working on a Canadian English dictionary as well) I have no explanation for the green lines ... it probably wants me to pluralize them or something equally stupid. I mostly ignore them.

Date: 2011-09-12 04:57 am (UTC)Oh, and btw, the person you were talking about as the villain, I have figured it out but will wait patiently for the revealing. I thought of one person and then had to go back and think again and thought of someone entirely different.
Oh ok *nods* (re: color)
What? That Microsoft Word? You couldn't change it to like US Dictionary english or whatever the hell it uses (don't ask for coherentness from me this late in the eve >>;;;;)
Yeah, ignorance is good in this case heh ^_^
*pats you on the back* Well, get your way past that frustration and move on anyhoot. MS Word will find a way to piss you off no matter wtf you do I have come to learn >> <<;;;;

Date: 2011-09-12 05:10 am (UTC)I am just (finding the disks having been the hold up til this point) going to go back to the one I know how to beat into submission. *nod*
At least until I have to upgrade to Windows 7 ... then I will have a whole operating system to beat into submission and maybe the word processor won't seem so evil anymore.

Date: 2011-09-12 05:12 am (UTC)Just don't beat it too much til your update's complete? :s
Pfft. You know what I'm dealing with? I have Office 07 at home and XP at work. Thankfully those two don't seem to fuck each other over too much.

Date: 2011-09-12 04:56 am (UTC)Brunet - masculine Brunette - feminine. so what I should have said was ...
Brunet is the masculine form and thus WOULD be correct if the character in question wasn't female. She is a she, so yeah, it's wrong, but the word is right.
and now I have edited to fix my typing.

Date: 2011-09-11 06:25 pm (UTC)Did you see Word for Mac? It has disappearing buttons! It glitched so much that I've moved to Open Office which is slow as hell.

Date: 2011-09-12 04:39 am (UTC)I love the concept of open office ... but like you said, it is slow. If they could fix that I would be all over it.

Date: 2011-09-13 01:08 pm (UTC)I do all of my text in notepad. Everything. I only ever open up Open Office to print things now (and fix my horrific fail!spelling). I gave up on Microsoft Office as soon as 07 came out. Bah, had to study it at TAFE. Had a big textbook and everything. Fun fun fun. :P
