Yup. I opened my game again. Things have settled down (after Mathew's Uncle joined the heart attack brigade. It has been a bad few weeks for the males aged 45-46 that we know. Both of my brothers are home again and Mathew's uncle will be soon. *huge sigh of relief*) What have I been doing the last few days?
Building.
Tiny apartments are tiny.
There are 4 of them on each floor and three floors total.
4 floors if you count the basement common area.
I was a little concerned with the single stairs connecting each floor, but after the first rush down to the poker table when all the townies moved in it has been working well.

I am willing to forgive the occasional traffic jam that may pop up.

The beautiful Acorn Bend by QBuilders. (I am using the undecorated version because I wanted to see what I could do with the map. Igave it a river and a marina!!) So much as this:

No :(. I am just testing out a few new things and somewhere running around is most of the Pleasantries crew (that I can't show you because I am also testing out some future makeovers) to see if the replacement for inteen I foudn actually works.
Verdict: It works better than inteen EVER did and I am mostly decided I will be keeping it (it comes with a few other things I am still a little hesitant about.)

Date: 2011-09-27 01:00 am (UTC)I did make it, and have had a request to upload it already (*boggles*) which I will do as soon as I make a few tweaks (like I am fairly certain I can shrink the bathrooms and give that little bit of extra space to the main room) and then playtest a bit more.

He is an interesting mix of both his parents I can't wait to see what he looks like when he grows up ... unfortunately I have been sidetracked by Angela's escapades for the moment while I try not let her die with the twins she is carrying ... Surprised the hell out of me when I discovered that! I didn't even know she had done anything to be capable of having them! There is a certain male romance sim who is going to stop rolling fears of getting attached or get a piano dropped on his head. Her parents are furious with both of them (yet one more feature of the unofficial EP! I love it!) and she is going to need somewhere else to live before she runs away!

It is an unofficial expansion pack by Chris Hatch and can be found here (http://www.backalleysims.com/adult_forums/showthread.php?t=5031) (should you download it be sure to check this post (http://www.backalleysims.com/adult_forums/showpost.php?p=88719&postcount=214) for information that may be relevant to more than just me, there are a few other posts that may be relevant as well starting at page 52 of the comments) )with this add on (http://www.backalleysims.com/adult_forums/showthread.php?t=4550). My favourite part of the whole thing is the player created religions! (and the ability to easily customize the NPC's ... fugly NPC's are history!)
Chris has written up a comparison between the two versions of this EP as well (and noted that you may have them both installed and switch back and forth as needed. You can also, because of the way he has them set up to install, switch back to your regular game at any time as well. This is the kind of awesome EAxis should have thought of!)

Which I haven't had the chance to play yet ... hmmm, maybe I should do that while I am testing a few other things related to updates ... *rushes off to go see how that new mesh works and finish playtesting ACR with the expansion pack*

Date: 2011-09-27 02:09 pm (UTC)I forgot about that unofficial expansion but it seemed quite interesting indeed. Only I use the securom remover and play with a no-DVD -exe (not that I arrd the game, I just don't like intrusive software), and I am too lazy to change that.
I'll be looking forward to hearing how it works in your game. The possibility of religions sounds so cool ! (Run from them irl only to want them in a game XD)

I'll read those 55 pages, although I suspect T&A is for English language only (I don't play in English), since he says it's a lot of text changes. I really want to read the topic also because I don't really understand what this "unofficial ep" basically does, and how it's possible to switch.

Note the drive paths. It makes its own copy of the needed files from your existing install. You are correct that you will have issues with the language, however, from reading through I noticed the one other user who had issues (german version I think) I don't recall if he got it working but Chris offered to make the corrections for him. Should you ever want to try it yourself I am sure he would do the same for a french version.
And ... I just ran into an interesting side effect I was not expecting! (*giggles happily*) Angela is a member of a religion that is not okay with same sex couples. Ginger Newson tried to hit on her. Angela rejected every try. (Also the "extra" options of kinky and wrong were not available). Out of curiosity I changed Angela's religion to one that doesn't think anything is wrong and ... *ehem* an enthusiastic, fun time was had by all.
