Of course I don't want to think of how long it took me to get them to work. I will just chalk it up to "learning" and go with: For the first time EVER, a building looks EXACTLY like I wanted it to.

Plus, I learned a ton about foundation walls while I was at it.

But...as I've reinstalled my game, I forgot a few steps in making sure my cc shows up (re-installing the CEP and I just tried looking at the programing file to make sure the game setting for cc are in place and they are) but I continue to have problems, so after I download some sims I made, I'm going to clear my downloads folder and go through my files and make sure I have everything I need...it took me long enough the first time ~.~ *wilt*

Date: 2012-01-11 03:08 am (UTC)Two options come immediately to mind about the mailbox. Assuming a quick change to residential, save, exit lot, re-enter lot, change to apartment, save, exit lot, reload, doesn't work. The first: do you have a buyable mailbox? (this usually applies when the lot says it is an apartment but the regular residential box is showing) If yes, check that you only have one (one of the base object, you can have as many recolours as you like). The second: Get a buyable mailbox (from here (http://daydream.etowns.net/)). Turn the lot to residential, place the mail box, save, exit lot, return to lot and ensure mailbox is showing, change to apartment lot, save exit lot. return to lot and ensure apartment box is now showing.
If the second option works for you, let me know and I will investigate the package to see if something went wrong during packaging.
For changing lot zoning, if you need to know how, go here (http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title=Tutorials:Building_an_Apartment#Changing_to_Apartment)

Date: 2012-01-11 05:29 am (UTC)I'll keep you updated. It's going to be a long weekend for me - good thing I have 3 days coming up (although I promise it won't all be spent on simming :p)
Oh yeah I'm all aware of lot zoning. I became aware of that when I ATTEMPTED my first apartment building and I did the taboo thing of moving someone in and then finding something wrong and found myself locked out >_<;;; I've never tried again. I leave it up to the experts; I'll stick to making houses; they're not too headachy for me ^^ heheh...

This happened when I was saving it and getting out of build mode, even though I didn't change anything - hell I forgot I couldn't because it was in it's proper zoning this time.
